Players to Watch: 

David Smith • Sr. • G/F • 6-4 • 180 • Lakewood, Wash.
Smith led the Mariners in scoring (16.3) and rebounding (6.0), scoring at least 20 points in nine games and totaling two double-doubles.  He made a school-record 85 three-pointers last season and the third most in Landmark Conference history.  Smith had seven games of at least five threes, including seven against Drew.  Smith scored a game-high 21 points against Stony Brook.

Matt Miller • Jr. • G • 6-3 • 180 • Augusta, Ga.
Miller scored in double figures in 22 of 25 games, including seven games of at least 20 points. He also had a big game against Drew, shooting 8 of 15 from the field, including a three, and 10 of 11 from the line for a season-high 27 points.  He had 15 points against Stony Brook.

Did You Know? The Merchant Marine Academy became the first federal service school to enroll women 

Notable: Steve Hayn graduated from Stony Brook in 1991 and is one of 24 players in school history to score 1,000 career points.  Hayn and Stony Brook head coach Steve Pikiell were on staff together at Central Connecticut in the late 90s.
