Stony Brook hosts Elon on Halloween

STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The Stony Brook football team will look to end a four-game losing streak this Saturday when they host CAA Football foe Elon at 12 p.m. at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.

The game will be broadcast live on the American Sports Network (SNY in the New York City/Long Island area) and can be heard live on 94.3 The Shark.

WR Ray Bolden pulled down a career-high nine catches and DB Trokon-Rahim Cassell recorded a career-best 10 tackles, but the Stony Brook football team fell to Maine 23-10 on Saturday afternoon at Alfond Stadium in a CAA Football game. Bolden finished the game with 97 yards on those nine catches, while Cassell had five solo stops and five assisted tackles for the Seawolves.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Opponent
Elon (2-5, 1-3 CAA) has dropped three straight games since a 17-13 win at home over Towson back on Sept. 26. The Phoenix are led by a pair of QBs that have split time. Connor Christian (502 yards and 3 TDs) and Daniel Thompson (632 yaards and 3 TDs) have combined to toss for 1,134 yards and six scores. Elon is led defensively by LB Corey Mitchell's 77 tackles.

The Series
This will be the fourth meeting between the two CAA Football foes and just the second conference matchup. Elon owns a 2-1 series advantage, but Stony Brook earned a 20-3 victory over the Phoenix on Oct. 18 of last season in North Carolina.

CAA Football teams with Be the Match
All 12 CAA Football schools will join together this weekend for "Be The Match Saturday," a collective effort between the CAA and Be The Match to raise awareness of the need for bone marrow donors, increase the number of potential donors in the registry, and ultimately save lives. Be The Match manages the largest and most diverse bone marrow donor registry in the world. Marrow transplants can provide a cure for more than 70 different diseases, including leukemia, lymphoma and sickle cell anemia. Be The Match will have a presence at all six of CAA Football's week nine games, educating fans in attendance on how to get involved. In addition, league coaches and sideline personnel will wear commemorative Be The Match patches on their gameday attire. Each CAA Football school has also committed to holding a donor registry drive on campus this spring - an effort multiple league schools have taken part in for years through Be The Match's "Get in the Game, Save a Life" program.

Seawolves Town
Join the Seawolves Halloween morning for haunted tailgate from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.&nbsp;- Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium parking lot will be turned into a festive pregame area for all fans to enjoy featuring pumpkin painting, monster making, inflatables, carnival games and a scarecrow hunt. Wear your costume and go "Trunk or Treating." The Seawolves football team will be parading through the parking lot at&nbsp;10:30 a.m.&nbsp;and giving out candy to all fans in costume. Jack-O-Lantern Contest: &nbsp;Bring your premade jack-o-lantern to be displayed in Seawolves Town.&nbsp; Wolfie will pick a winner who will be brought down onto the field and win official Seawolves Gear.

Seawolves Radio Network
Stony Brook Athletics begins a dynamic three-year agreement with Connoisseur Media Long Island, Long Island's premier media cluster, to broadcast Seawolves' football games beginning in the fall of 2015. Over the next three seasons, 94.3 The Shark will air all regular and postseason Stony Brook Football games. The radio agreement is the most comprehensive in the history of Stony Brook athletics, marking the first time that all football will air live on a commercial radio station. In addition to the large radio broadcast coverage area, Connoisseur Media Long Island also provides live streaming on all station websites, including 943TheShark.com, so fans around the world can listen via computer or mobile device. The broadcast stream is also live on StonyBrookAthletics.com. Broadcast veteran Josh Caray and former NFL star Erik Coleman will provide the call of every down during the season, while long-time Stony Brook radio personality Curt Hylton will provide pregame, halftime and postgame content.
