STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook football will complete the 2015 season on Satruday when they host UAlbany in the third annual “Empire Clash” at 1 p.m. in Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.
The winner of the game will take home The Golden Apple trophy, introduced to the rivarly this year.
Satruday is also senior day for the Seawolves. Stony Brook will honor the 13 senior members of the footbal team prior to kickoff. The class includes DL Dante Allen, QB Conor Bednarski, LB Trokon-Rahim Cassell II, S Naim Cheeseboro, WR Angelo DeShields, DB Marquise Dixon, QB Carlos Hernandez, C Jerry Hubshman, OL Dylan Joslin, FB Chris Makulik, OL Karim Mohamed, DL Victor Ochi and LB Julian Quintin.

The Stony Brook football team put together a total team win, 19-7, over Rhode Island in a CAA Football game at Meade Stadium. The Seawolves recorded points on three phases with a passing touchdown on offense, a safety on defense and a blocked punt for a touchdown on special teams. Victor Ochi recorded 1.5 sacks to take over sole possession of the SBU career record in both sacks and tackles for a loss. Aaron Thompson added a pair of sacks and Ousmane Carama had a sack in the end zone for a safety. Shayne Lawless pulled down a pair of interceptions and recovered a fumble. Donald Liotine led the offense with 114 yards on the ground, while Kye Morgan blocked a URI punt and recovered it in the end zone for a touchdown in the third quarter.
Opponent
UAlbany (3-7, 2-5 CAA Football) has dropped five of the last six games, but registered a 17-6 win at Delaware two weeks ago. The Great Danes are led by a pair of freshman running backs Elijah Ibitokun-Hanks and Elliot Croskey who have both gained over 500 yards on the ground this season.
The Series
This will be the 17th meeting between the two SUNY rivals and the third annual “Empire Clash” that will be played this season for The Golden Apple. UAlbany leads the series 10-6, but the two schools have split the CAA contests and are 4-4 in games played at Stony Brook.

Stony Brook Athletics begins a dynamic three-year agreement with Connoisseur Media Long Island, Long Island’s premier media cluster, to broadcast Seawolves’ football games beginning in the fall of 2015. Over the next three seasons, 94.3 The Shark will air all regular and postseason Stony Brook Football games. The radio agreement is the most comprehensive in the history of Stony Brook athletics, marking the first time that all football will air live on a commercial radio station. In addition to the large radio broadcast coverage area, Connoisseur Media Long Island also provides live streaming on all station websites, including 943TheShark.com, so fans around the world can listen via computer or mobile device. The broadcast stream is also live on StonyBrookAthletics.com.
