STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Donald Liotine, a redshirt freshman running back on the Stony Brook football team, was named the CAA Football Rookie of the Week for the second time in the last three weeks, the league announced on Monday.
Liotine, a Medford, N.Y. native, closed out the season with his third straight 100-plus rushing game by gaining 203 yards on 31 carries in the Seawolves’ 20-2 victory over UAlbany in Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium this past Saturday. He also crossed the goal line once and had additional runs of 54 yards and 31 yards against the Great Danes.
The performance was the second 200-plus game of Liotine’s career with the other coming two weeks prior with 204 yards against Howard.
Liotine closed out the season by gaining 521 yards on 98 carries with three touchdowns in the final three games.
