Liotine named CAA Football Rookie of the Week

Nov. 9, 2015

STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- Donald Liotine , a redshirt freshman running back on the Stony Brook football team, was named the CAA Football Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Liotine, a Medford, N.Y. native, finished Saturday's 14-9 victory over visiting Howard with career highs of 38 carries and 204 rushing yards. He also accounted for both of the Seawolves' touchdowns in the contest -- the first on a 14-yard run and the second on a five-yard carry. The performance marked Liotine's first career game with over 100 yards rushing.

Liotine and Stony Brook will hit the road for the final time in 2015 when they visit Rhode Island on Saturday for a 12:30 p.m. kickoff against the Rams. The Seawolves then return home for the season finale against Albany on Nov. 21 at 1 p.m. at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.
