Senior Mike Rooney (East Islip, N.Y.) led all players with five goals as the Stony Brook men's lacrosse team topped Rutgers, 13-9, Sunday at High Point Solutions Stadium.
It was the fourth straight win for the Seawolves (5-1), who also got two goals from sophomore Alex Corpolongo (Purdys, N.Y.) and junior Brody Eastwood (Victoria, British Columbia). Eastwood's first goal gave him 100 for his career, becoming the sixth player in school history to do so.
Sophomore Hayden Johnstone (Toronto, Ontario) made 11 saves and registered his fourth win of the season.
Christian Trasolini led Rutgers (2-5) with four goals. Scott Bieda had a game-high four assists.

Rutgers scored the first three goals. Rooney got Stony Brook on the board a little more than eight minutes into the first quarter and the Seawolves took off from there. Rooney's goal was the first of four straight and seven of eight and 10 of 12 goals.
