2015 CAA All-Conference Team and Preseason Poll
Baltimore, Md. - Seniors Victor Ochi (Valley Stream, N.Y.) and Naim Cheeseboro (King of Prussia, Pa.) from the Stony Brook football team were named to the 2015 CAA Football Preseason All-Conference team, it was announced Tuesday at the conference’s Media Day at M&T Bank Stadium, home of the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens.
Ochi and Cheeseboro represent two of eight returning starters on a defense that ranked third in all of FCS in total defense and fourth in scoring defense in 2014.
Ochi was a first team all-conference selection in 2014, finishing the year with 16.5 tackles for loss and 11.0 sacks, both of which were school records. He enters his senior season seven TFL’s shy of the Stony Brook career record.
Cheeseboro will once again anchor the back end of the secondary after finishing second on the team with 76 tackles last season. He also contributed six tackles for loss, two interceptions, two breakups, and recovered a fumble for a touchdown at UConn.
In addition to the Preseason All-Conference Team, the CAA also released the Preseason Poll, where the Seawolves were picked to finish eighth out of 12 teams. Villanova was picked to win the league with 14 first-place votes, followed by James Madison and New Hampshire, who each received five first-place votes.
The Seawolves begin camp on Tuesday, Aug. 4, and open the season at Toledo on Thursday, Sep. 3 at 7 p.m. The game can be heard on 94.3 The Shark.
