STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stacey Bedell, a junior running back on the Stony Brook football team, was named the Colonial Athletic Association’s Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Bedell, a native of Mastic Beach, N.Y., piled up 133 yards on 22 rushing attempts in the Seawolves’ dominant 38-9 win over Central Connecticut State on Saturday night in Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. Bedell scored a career-high three touchdowns on the ground, coming from 25 yards, eight yards and two yards out, respectively.
The performance marked his seventh-career 100-yard rushing game.
