WILLIAMSBURG, VA. – The Stony Brook football team looks to keep the momentum of the strong start to the season when they hit the road to face CAA Football foe and 25th-ranked William & Mary on Saturday at Walter J. Zable Stadium for a 7:30 p.m. game that will be broadcast live on the Comcast Sports Network (SNY on Long Island).

Last Time Out
History was made at LaValle Stadium on last Saturday night as the Stony Brook football team earned a 31-6 victory over 13th-ranked New Hampshire in the CAA Football opener. The win marked the first for the Seawolves over the Wildcats and UNH was the highest ranked opponent SBU has ever defeated. RB Stacey Bedell and WR Ray Bolden led the offense, while DE Victor Ochi was the catalyst on the defensive side of the ball. Bedell rattled off 193 yards rushing on 21 carries, including two 50-plus yard runs in the second half and one touchdown. Bolden pulled down seven catches for 102 yards and two scores. Ochi collected a game-best 11 tackles, including 3.5 sacks.
Opponent
William & Mary, ranked 25th in the coaches’ poll and is just out of the top 25 in the STATS poll, is 1-1 this young season with a season-opening win at Lafayette followed by a narrow loss to FBS foe Virginia last weekend. The Tribe will be making their first apperance in the friendly confines of Zable Stadium this week. W&M is led by QB Steve Cluley’s five touchdown passes and RB Mikal Abdul-Saboor’s two rushing scores.
The Series
This will be the second meeting between the two CAA Football foes. William & Mary claimed the only other meeting, 27-21, in overtime on Sept. 27 of last season in Stony Brook.

Stony Brook Athletics begins a dynamic three-year agreement with Connoisseur Media Long Island, Long Island’s premier media cluster, to broadcast Seawolves’ football games beginning in the fall of 2015. Over the next three seasons, 94.3 The Shark will air all regular and postseason Stony Brook Football games. The radio agreement is the most comprehensive in the history of Stony Brook athletics, marking the first time that all football will air live on a commercial radio station. In addition to the large radio broadcast coverage area, Connoisseur Media Long Island also provides live streaming on all station websites, including 943TheShark.com, so fans around the world can listen via computer or mobile device. The broadcast stream is also live on StonyBrookAthletics.com. Broadcast veteran Josh Caray and former NFL star Erik Coleman will provide the call of every down during the season, while long-time Stony Brook radio personality Curt Hylton will provide pregame, halftime and postgame content.
