Burlington, Vt. - Sarah Martin's 15th minute goal held up as the match's only tally as the Stony Brook women's soccer team (3-6-2, 0-1-0 AE) lost its conference opener at Vermont (4-4-1, 1-0-0 AE) on Sunday, 1-0.
Ryan's Reaction
"It was a typical conference game in that it was a competitive match against a good opponent," said head coach Sue Ryan. "Credit goes to Vermont. THey are a good team and they finished their chances. On the other end, we had chances but couldn't put one away."
Notes
- Stony Brook's offense was shutout for the first time in nine games. The last time they were held off the score sheet was vs. Sacred Heart on Aug. 23.
- The Seawolves were outshot 28-9 for the match. Redshirt junior Raven Edwards (West Orange, N.J.) led Stony Brook with two shots and a shot on goal.
- Junior Emily Doherty (Oceanside, N.Y.) played the full 90 minutes and made eight saves in goal for the Seawolves.
