STONY BROOK, N.Y. - After having the game at Toledo cancelled due to inclement weather, the Stony Brook football team will now officially begin the 2015 season at home on Saturday when they host Central Connecticut State at 6 p.m. in Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.
Last week's trip to Toledo resulted in a no-contest after a three hour weather delay in the first half and a second delay right before the kickoff to begin the third quarter. The Rockets held a 16-7 lead when play was halted. The statistics from the game will not count.
The Seawolves did jump out of the gate early against the Rockets and led 7-0 after the first quarter and held a 7-3 lead when the game went into the first delay. The Stony Brook touchdown came of the first possession of the game when Cal Daniels (Bethel, Conn.) pulled in a two-yard pass from Conor Bednarski (Pasadena, Calif.) with 8:53 left in the first quarter. Przemyslaw Popek's (Yonkers, N.Y.) PAT was good. The drive was 13 players, 76 yards and took 6:07 off the clock.
