Stony Brook faces Vermont Saturday on ESPN3

Tip-Off: The Stony Brook men's basketball team will wrap up the first half of America East Conference play Saturday afternoon at Vermont.  Chris Villani and Frank Sullivan will have the call on ESPN3.  Josh Caray will broadcast the action back to Long Island on WHLI 1100 AM.

Opponent: Vermont has won three straight games and is tied with Albany for second place in the conference standings.  Ethan O'Day, who is second on the team with 11.5 points per game, scored a game-high 19 points in a win over New Hampshire.  Trae Bell-Haynes leads the Catamounts with 12.2 ppg.  Nine different players have started a game for Vermont, which leads the conference in total blocks (90).

Series: Vermont leads the all-time series, 23-9.  The Catamounts won both regular season contests last season, but the Seawolves rallied from a 16-point deficit to win 79-77 in the America East Semifinals.

Last Time Out: Senior Carson Puriefoy (Wenonah, N.J.) led four scorers in double figures with 23 points as the Stony Brook men's basketball team extended its winning streak to 12 with an 81-54 win over Maine at Island Federal Credit Union Arena Monday night.

Puriefoy totaled at least 20 points for a second straight game, finishing with 23. Five of his six field goals were threes and he shot 6 of 6 from the free throw line.

Senior Rayshaun McGrew (Chicago, Ill.) scored 14 points and added seven rebounds. Senior Jameel Warney(Plainfield, N.J.) had 12 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and three blocks and junior Lucas Woodhouse(Greenlawn, N.Y.) made four threes to finish with 12 points.

Stony Brook (16-4, 7-0 America East) made at least 30 field goals for the ninth time this season.

Devine Eke had 11 points for Maine (6-13, 2-4).
