Princeton, N.J. – The Stony Brook men's and women's cross country teams are back in action this Saturday as they travel to Princeton, N.J. for the Princeton Invitational.
The Seawolves will compete against: American, Binghamton, Columbia, George Washington, Harvard, Hofstra, Iona, LaSalle, Loyola, Marist, Maryland, Maryland Eastern Shore, McNeese State, Monmouth, NJIT, Penn, Princeton, Rider, Sacred Heart, St. Joe's, Stony Brook, UMBC, UNCG and Yale.
The day will begin with the women's 6K at 9a.m. followed by the men's 8K at 9:45 a.m.
"The meet at Princeton is another opportunity for both squads to work on there racing mentality. We need to work on our ability and desire to compete when we race. I believe we will do a better job tomorrow of getting off the line quickly, something we did not do at Lehigh 2 weeks ago," said Head Coach
Andy Ronan
"We will have the majority of our men's squad on the start line, I am looking to see our front 3 of
Cameron Avery,
Nick Cruz and Danny Connolly continue to lead the way for our guys. Probably the most important thing tomorrow is to see who is going to step forward to fill the important 4th and 5th spots. We have more guys fighting for those spots that we have had in the past, but now is the time for a couple of them to step up as we approach the conference meet in two weeks," continued Ronan.
"We are a little short on the women's side again tomorrow, a few of the girls are missing with minor problems. I expect that they will be ok for the America East. But
Christine Eisenberg has another opportunity to continue her strong fall season again tomorrow. Then as with the guys we are looking to see who is going to step up and fill the 4th and 5th spots as we near the championship stage of the season," said Ronan.
