Final Stats
Fort Myers, Fla. - The Stony Brook softball team (5-10) ended its trip to Florida with a 7-0 loss to No. 21 Notre Dame at the Florida Gulf Coast Tournament.
Turning Point
Stony Brook held Notre Dame scoreless through the first two innings, but the Irish scored runs in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings to pull away. A three-run sixth inning pushed the score from 4-0 to 7-0, putting the game out of reach.
Notes
- Freshman Irene Rivera (Sylmar, Calif.) and senior Allie Pisciotta (New Hyde Park, Pa.) recorded the Stony Brook hits.
- Sallen pitched the entire six innings for her eighth complete game of the year.
- Senior Diane Caruso (Middletown, N.Y.) was Stony Brook's top hitter in the tournament, going 5-for-14 (.357) with two rbi. Pisciotta also had five hits.
