The No. 7/6 Stony Brook women’s lacrosse team tallied the second shutout in program history in a 16-0 win over America East foe Binghamton Wednesday night at the Bearcats Sports Complex. With the win – the 10th straight for Stony Brook – the Seawolves improve to 12-3 and 5-0 in America East, while the Bearcats fall to 4-11 and 0-4 in conference play.
Junior Courtney Murphy (Shirley, N.Y.) became the first player in program history to score 200 career goals with an eight-goal night to give her a nation-leading 73 on the year and an America East-record 34 in conference play with one conference game remaining.
By the Numbers
- Freshman Anna Tesoriero (Huntington, N.Y.) made six saves as the Seawolves recorded their first-ever shutout in an America East game and first overall since a 13-0 victory over Monmouth on Feb. 19, 2014.
- Junior Dorrien Van Dyke (Northport, N.Y.) added three goals, two assists and four ground balls in the victory.
- Junior Alyssa Guido (Rocky Point, N.Y.) tallied a goal and a season-high four assists.
- Senior Maegan Meritz (Farmingdale, N.Y.) notched three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
- Senior Alyssa Fleming (Shoreham, N.Y.) tallied three caused turnovers and two ground balls.
- Junior Kristin Yevoli (Massapequa, N.Y.) recorded one goal, three ground balls and two draw controls.
- Sophomore Kylie Ohlmiller (Islip, N.Y.), sophomore Samantha DiSalvo (Lynbrook, N.Y.) and freshman Kasey Mitchell (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) each had one goal and one assist.

- Stony Brook improves to 13-1 all-time against Binghamton and has won six straight over the Bearcats.
- The Seawolves extend their winning streak against America East teams to 15 games.
- Murphy is now averaging 4.87 goals/game this season.
- Murphy’s 34 goals in conference play are four more than anyone else in conference history. Boston University’s Sarah Dalton tallied 30 in 2009.
- Murphy’s 73 goals this season rank third in America East history. Only Dalton (91 in 2009) and Seawolves alum Demmianne Cook (90 in 2013) have scored more.
- Ohlmiller’s 36 assists rank seventh in Seawolves single-season history.
- Freshman Keri McCarthy (Hauppauge, N.Y.) tallied three draw controls to give her 31 in conference play, which is tied for ninth in America East history.
