BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Stony Brook women's basketball team was held off by Vermont, 53-43, Saturday afternoon at Patrick Gymnasium. In the defeat, the Seawolves drop to 9-12 and 2-6 in the America East, while the Catamounts improve to 6-14 and 3-5 in conference play.
Turning Point
After a 6-0 Catamounts run to open the contest, Stony Brook was neck-and-neck with Vermont all the way to the fourth-quarter media timeout, trailing 43-42 with four minutes to go. Vermont would close out the game on a 10-1 run for the 10-point victory.
