STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook women's basketball team was defeated by New Hampshire, 56-45, Wednesday evening at Island Federal Credit Union Arena. With the loss, the Seawolves drop to 9-13 and 2-7 in the America East, while the Wildcats – winners of 13 straight games – improve to 19-3 and 9-0 in conference play.
Turning Point
Stony Brook trailed throughout the second half before cutting an eight-point deficit to three via five points from sophomore
Davion Wingate (Atlanta, Ga.), as her trifecta cut it to 42-39 with 8:16 to go. New Hampshire then expanded on the lead with a 9-0 run to extend the cushion to double digits and put the game out of reach.
