WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Stony Brook women's soccer travels to Connecticut on Thursday, Oct. 26, squaring off with Hartford in the quarterfinal round of the America East Women's Soccer Championships. The Seawolves will enter the postseason conference tournament as the No. 5 seed, traveling to No. 4 Hartford for a 6 p.m. start time.

Stony Brook finished the 2017 season with a 4-4-0 record in league play, 8-10-0 overall. The Seawolves dropped their 2017 regular season finale on Sunday afternoon at Virtue Field, falling to Vermont by the final score of 2-0.

2017 Preseason Poll
Stony Brook women's soccer was tabbed to finish No. 4 in the 2017 America East Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the conference on Wednesday, Aug. 9. The Seawolves finished with 45 total votes in the preseason poll. Hartford will enter 2017 as the favorite, receiving 58 total points (three first-place votes). Albany received 57 points (five first-place votes), and New Hampshire checked in just ahead of Stony Brook with 51 votes (one first-place vote).
2016 Season
Faherty guided the Seawolves to a 9-8-3 record during his first year with the program in 2016. The team earned its first America East playoff appearance since the 2013 season after notching a Division-I era record six straight conference wins in league play. Faherty earned America East Coach of the Year honors, and saw six players earn all-conference accolades, including two on the first team.
