BANGOR, Maine – Senior
Kori Bayne-Walker (Rochester, N.Y.) matched a career-high with 25 points, but the Stony Brook women's basketball team was held off in overtime by Maine, 78-71, Sunday afternoon at the Cross Insurance Center. In the defeat, the Seawolves drop to 10-15 and 3-9 in the America East, while the Black Bears improve to 15-13 and 8-5 in conference play.

Turning Point
The Seawolves forced overtime on a layup by senior
Christa Scognamiglio (Orangeburg, N.Y.) with seven seconds remaining in regulation, followed by a defensive stop. Maine controlled the extra frame, opening up an eight-point lead at 76-68 before Stony Brook pulled the final margin to seven.

Davion Wingate (Atlanta, Ga.) chipped in 19 points for the Seawolves, while Scognamiglio added nine points, four rebounds and three steals.

Aaliyah Worley (Philadelphia, Pa.) grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
- The Seawolves grabbed 15 offensive rebounds, while total rebounds were even at 41.
