LOWELL, Mass. – The Stony Brook women's basketball team put up its largest margin of victory in the Division I era with an 86-44 victory over UMass Lowell Monday night at the Costello Athletic Center. In the win, the Seawolves improve to 10-14 and 3-8 in the America East, while the River Hawks drop to 3-21 and 0-11 in conference play.
Sophomore
Davion Wingate (Atlanta, Ga.) led all scorers with 21 points for the Seawolves, who shot a season-high 56.7-percent from the floor to score a season-best 86 points, which matches the highest total in regulation in the last 10 seasons.

"We talked about our chemistry, playing together and being in sync with each other. We executed that today. We shared the ball – we had 19 assists. I thought we shared the ball well today and had a total team effort on both the offensive and defensive end."
Turning Point
Stony Brook trailed 9-7 four minutes in before the Seawolves responded with a 10-0 run with five points each from Wingate and senior
Christa Scognamiglio (Orangeburg, N.Y.) to give Stony Brook a lead it would not relinquish. Wingate and Scognamiglio combined for 17 points in the first quarter to give the Seawolves a 20-13 advantage through 10 minutes.

Anamaria Skaro (Split, Croatia) scored a career-high 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc.
