BALTIMORE - The No. 4 Stony Brook women's lacrosse team looks for its ninth-straight win and to clinch home-field for the America East Championship when the Seawolves face UMBC Saturday morning in Baltimore.
Scouting the Retrievers
UMBC is 10-4 and 3-1 in the America East, having won six of its last seven. The Retrievers have picked up three straight conference wins over UMass Lowell, New Hampshire and Binghamton.
Lauren McDonald is tied for second in the America East with 46 goals, while Sam Nolan's 66 points rank third. The Retrievers are second in the conference with 14.57 goals per game.
Series History vs. UMBC
Friday is the 16th all-time meeting between Stony Brook and UMBC with the Retrievers holding an 8-7 advantage in the series. UMBC won the first eight meetings between the programs from 2004-2011, but Stony Brook has taken all seven under Coach Spallina including two in the America East semifinals.
