STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook men's lacrosse team will wrap up the regular season hosting Binghamton on Friday evening. The Seawolves will honor six seniors prior to the game as they take to Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium for a final time. Stony Brook is coming off of back-to-back league wins on the road, while Binghamton looks to snap a three-game skid before the post season.

 Seawolves Notes
  • Stony Brook ranks 16th in the nation, averaging 18.50 points per game, and 15th with 6.92 assists per game. The Seawolves also hold the 12th best shooting percentage in the country (.331).
  • Newcomer Connor Grippe was named America East Rookie of the Week after putting away the game-winner in overtime at UMass Lowell. His classmates Tom Haun and Michael Bollinger earned Rookie and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, for their play at Vermont.
  • Alex Corpolongo leads the team with 32 goals on the year, extending the second longest scoring streak in the country to 30 games after matching his career best with five goals at UMass Lowell.
  • Ryan Bitzer set at new career high with six assists at UMass Lowell to up his team-best points total to 47 and make it 33 straight games with a point.
  • Tom Haun has notched seven multi-goal games in his debut season two goals at Vermont.
  • Corpolongo, Bitzer and Haun all rank in the top 25 nationally in an offensive category as Corpolongo sits at 14th in goals per game (2.67), Bitzer is eighth in assists per game (2.42) and Haun ranks ninth shooting percentage (.489).
  • Newcomers have been big contributors on the attack this season, they are responsible for 63 of the team's 139 goals.
  • Michael Bollinger notched his third double-digit save game through four starts. He tallied 12 stops, boasting a .571 save percentage at Vermont.
  • The win over Fairfield marked the 200th win of Stony Brook head coach Jim Nagle's career.
  • The Seawolves started the season 4-0, marking the best start in program history.

Scouting Binghamton
Binghamton enters the regular season finale with a 9-4 record on the year, 3-2 in league play. The Bearcats have dropped their last three games, falling at No. 1 Syracuse, 9-8, over the weekend after stumbling at UMBC and against Albany. Prior to the skid, Binghamton was riding an eight-game winning streak.
Tom Moore leads the attack for the Bearcats with 63 points on the season, more than double any other teammate. Moore has put away 39 goals and assisted 24 more, ranking in the top 25 in the nation in both categories.  Tanner Cosens boasts the team's record and a .528 save percentage as the Bearcats are allowing the fewest goals of all league teams (7.87).

Series Info
Stony Brook leads the all-time series against the Bearcats, 12-5. The two teams first met in 2002, when the Seawolves topped Binghamton 20-3 on the road. Stony Brook has claimed 10 of the last 12 meetings in the series, including a 16-11 win last season. Ryland Rees (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia) sparked a seven-goal run to start the game against the Bearcats, as the Seawolves fought off a fourth-quarter push to hold on for the win.

Last Time Out
The Seawolves made it back-to-back conference wins on the road as they topped UMass Lowell in overtime, 12-11. Connor Grippe (Setauket, N.Y.) was the hero late when he buried a pass from Ryan Bitzer (Riverhead, N.Y.) with 46 seconds remaining in overtime.
Trailing after the first quarter, Stony Brook scored four straight to close out the first half and take a 7-4 lead into the break. Both teams strung together second-half runs and UMass Lowell was able to eventually tie things up with 7:04 left to play in regulation.

Post Season Potential
Stony Brook and Binghamton are currently tied for third in the conference heading into their final America East game of the 2017 season. The top four teams in the league qualify for the America East Championships, which will be hosted this year by top seeded Albany. A win for the Seawolves secures them a spot in the championships. In the event of a loss, a win by Albany (vs. Hartford) or UMBC (vs. Vermont) also keeps Stony Brook in contention.

Successful Seniors
Bitzer and Corpolongo are coming off of career games at UMass Lowell and will finish their Stony Brook careers in the all-time record books after spearheading the offense all season. Both players are in the midst of lengthy streaks on offense that date back to their sophomore seasons, while Corpolongo leads the team in scoring this season and Bitzer paces the team in assists and points. Bitzer and Corpolongo have each tallied over 100 career points, making Stony Brook one of 17 schools with two-or-more 100-point earners.
