Courtney Murphy are moving closer to breaking Division I career statistical records:
- Courtney Murphy is now just eight goals away from breaking the NCAA Division I career record set by Temple's Gail Cummings (289).
- Kylie Ohlmiller now has a team-best 63 points (39 goals, 24 assists). The senior captain now has 403 career points, needing just 43 more to break the NCAA career record set by Maryland's Jen Adams (445). The senior also has 201 career assists now, needing 24 more to break the NCAA record set by Northwestern's Hannah Nielsen (224).
No. 1 In The Polls
- Stony Brook women's lacrosse has been ranked No. 1 nationally in all three major polls for the sixth-straight week.
- After topping No. 20 Denver at LaValle Stadium in their 2018 home opener, the Seawolves earned the top spot in all three major polls for the first time in program history (IWLCA Coaches' Poll, Cascade/Inside Lacrosse, Nike/US Lacrosse), as announced on Monday, Feb. 26.
- Stony Brook has won nine-straight contests to begin the 2018 season, downing five nationally-ranked teams along the way. The Seawolves have outscored opponents 149-60 thus far.
Scouting Cornell
- Cornell has been ranked as high as No. 23 nationally in the latest IWLCA poll.
- Cornell is 6-3 so far in 2018, topping Rutgers, 14-9, its last time out from Ithaca.
- Caroline Allen leads the program offensively thus far, scoring a team-high 21 goals to go along with seven assists for 28 points.
- Tuesday's contest at LaValle Stadium will be the first-ever matchup between the two programs.
Head Coach Joe Spallina
- Seawolves' head coach Joe Spallina is currently in his seventh season with the program, owning a 112-20 overall record at Stony Brook.
- The engineer of the nation's best turnaround in 2012 and winningest coach in program history after only three seasons, Spallina has guided the Seawolves to a 34-2 record in America East action and five consecutive America East titles and NCAA Tournament appearances.
- Under Spallina, Stony Brook has produced 12 IWLCA All-Americans, seven Tewaaraton nominees, one Tewaaraton finalist, five conference championships, five NCAA Tournament second-round berths and an NCAA quarterfinal appearance.
There's No Place Like Home
- The Seawolves have been dominant at LaValle Stadium over the last seven seasons, posting a 62-5 record at home (a .925 winning percentage) since the start of the 2012 season.
- Stony Brook went 11-0 at home in 2017 and has won 25-straight games at LaValle Stadium.
Dominant Defense
- The Seawolves currently have the nation's best defense, giving up just 6.66 goals per contests.
- Junior goalkeeper Anna Tesoriero owns a 6.87 goals-against average through nine games – which ranks No. 2 nationally and best in the America East.
Assists on Assists
- Stony Brook has assisted on 96 of 149 goals so far this season, ranking No. 1 nationally in helpers per contest (10.66). Taryn Ohlmiller (26 assists) ranks No. 1 nationally in individual assists per contest (2.88).

- The Seawolves have recorded just 12.00 turnovers per game in the first nine contests of the season, which also ranks No. 1 nationally.
Offensive Firepower
- Stony Brook has attempted 30 or more shots in each of its first nine games of the season, joining Dartmouth as the only two programs to record 30 shots in each game this season.

2017 Season
- Stony Brook is coming off its best season in program history, going 20-2 in 2017. The Seawolves fell at Maryland in the NCAA Quarterfinal round after winning its fifth-straight America East title on May 7, 2017.
- The Seawolves won 20 games in a season for the first time in program history, topping Bryant and Northwestern in NCAA Tournament action.

All-American Selections
- Seven Stony Brook women's lacrosse players were tabbed Inside Lacrosse Preseason Division I All-Americans, the publication announced heading into the 2018 season. Courtney Murphy, Kylie Ohlmiller, and Brooke Gubitosi, were selected to the First Team, Taryn Ohlmiller, was awarded Third Team honors, and Keri McCarthy, Mackenzie Burns, and Anna Tesoriero, were named to the Honorable Mention squad.
- Seven Seawolves were also tabbed Inside Lacrosse Midseason Media All-Americans, as announced by the publication on Thursday, March 29. Seniors Kylie Ohlmiller (Islip, N.Y.) and Brooke Gubitosi (East Northport, N.Y.) were selected to the First Team, Courtney Murphy (Shirley, N.Y.) and Taryn Ohlmiller (Islip, N.Y.) were awarded Second Team honors, goalkeeper Anna Tesoriero (Huntington, N.Y.) was named to the Third Team, and Keri McCarthy (Hauppauge, N.Y.) and Ally Kennedy (North Babylon, N.Y.) were awarded Honorable Mention honors.
