Seawolves Split DH with Hartford on Senior Day

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Seniors LF Andruw Gazzola (Coram, N.Y.) and 3B Bobby Honeyman (Massapequa, N.Y.) both drove in two runs in the opening game of their final home series and helped the Stony Brook baseball team to a split of the doubleheader with visiting Hartford on Saturday at Joe Nathan Field.

In addition to Gazzola's two RBI, he collected four hits, while Honeyman had a pair of hits, including a triple.

Sophomore RHP Greg Marino (Lake Grove, N.Y.) earned the victory in game one, his fifth of the season, while sophomore RHP Aaron Glickstein (Dix Hills, N.Y.) picked up his second save of the year.

Game One Turning Point
Stony Brook broke a 3-3 tie in the fifth inning when sophomore SS Nick Grande (Smithtown. N.Y.) walked, stole second base and then came all the way around to score on a routine infield pop up when Hartford failed to cover both third and home.

Game Two Turning Point
Hartford received all the offense they needed with a run in the second inning and then added some early insurances with a two-run home run in the third inning.

Quoting Head Coach Matt Senk
"A lot of credit goes to Hartford's starting pitcher in game two. He was able to come out and earn the split for them. We will regroup and look forward to the opportunity to take the series tomorrow."
