RICHMOND, Va. – Stony Brook placed 33 student-athletes on the CAA Football Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll list, it was announced by the league on Tuesday.
The CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll gives special recognition to student-athletes who have distinguished themselves both in the classroom and on the field. Student-athletes who were members of a CAA Football team and achieved at least a 3.0 grade point average based on semester/quarter performance or cumulative GPA were honored.
All 12 CAA Football members had at least 18 student-athletes recognized on the honor roll.
Among the Seawolves' list of 33 was preseason All-CAA Football selection
Shayne Lawless (Moorestown, N.J.). Lawless, a two-time second team All-CAA Football honoree (2016 and 2017), has played in 34 games in his career with the Seawolves and has recorded 199 total tackles during his career that includes 26.5 tackles for loss and 10.0 sacks.
