Sofia Manner and freshman
Mari Brenden each earned America East women's soccer weekly honors, as announced by the league office Monday morning. Manner was named America East Defensive Player of the Week, while Brenden garnered Rookie of the Week honors. Binghamton's Kayla Saager was the conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Brenden, a native of Oslo, Norway, put away the game-winner at Seton Hall Sunday afternoon for the first goal of her career. The victory was the second win over a high-major team for the Seawolves this season. Manner notched her first shutout of the season at Seton Hall, picking up her second win. The Helsinki, Finland native allowed just one goal through two games last week, after also holding No. 20 Notre Dame scoreless through regulation.
The Seawolves wrap up a season-opening six-game road swing this week, traveling to Boston College and St. John's before their home opener on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. A season Soccer Pass as well as individual game tickets are available
