STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- The Stony Brook men's soccer team dropped a low-scoring affair on Saturday night, falling to Lafayette at LaValle Stadium, 1-0.
The game stayed scoreless until the final minute when James Gibson found the net for the game-winning goal. With the loss, the Seawolves fall to 1-2-0 on the season.
Quoting Head Coach Ryan Anatol
"I thought we defended well, we dealt with the things they wanted to do. Overall I thought it was a strong performance. We didn't score the ball, and ultimately the last 20 seconds cost us the game," said Anatol. "We have to do a better job of breaking numbers down and creating more opportunities. We had some looks but we didn't put them away.
"I thought it was a strong performance, but we also have to get results. We need to create more chances, we need to score goals, and do everything we can to shut the other team out."
