Stony Brook Wraps Non-Conference, Begins AE Play During Alumnae Weekend

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook women's soccer team returns home to host Alumnae Weekend with a pair of game at LaValle Stadium. The Seawolves will wrap up non-conference play as they face Delaware State on Friday night, before kicking off America East action against Maine Sunday afternoon.
 
Seawolves Notes
- The Seawolves are in search of their first conference-opening win since the 2013 season.
- Stony Brook began league play at Maine last season, falling 1-0.
- The Seawolves made it back-to-back 4-0 victories, topping Wagner and Iona by the same margin. 
- Sophomore Sofia Manner (Helsinki, Finland) and freshman Mari Brenden (Oslo, Norway) earned America East weekly honors the second week of the season, after helping lift the Seawolves past Seton Hall. Manner was named Defensive Player of the Week after notching her first shutout of the year, while Brenden garnered Rookie of the Week honors for scoring the game-winner against the Pirates. 
- The Seawolves started the season with six-straight road games, facing six teams from three different high-major conferences: Pac-12 (Oregon, Oregon State), ACC (No. 20 Notre Dame, Boston College) and BIG EAST (Seton Hall, St. John's).
Sofia Manner set a new career high with 12 save at Oregon State. She matched her previous best with nine stops in the first half. This was the first time she has reached double figures int he category. 
- Stony Brook was selected to finish second in the America East this season, behind New Hampshire.
- The Seawolves earned made their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2013 last year, after winning the America East Championship. 
 
Scouting Delaware State
- Delaware State enters the weekend at 2-7-1 on the season, most recently settling for a 1-1 draw with Mount St. Mary's. It was the team's second overtime game of the year, the first resulting in its last win, a 1-0 victory over St. Peter's College.
- This is the first meeting between Stony Brook and Delaware State since 2014, when the Seawolves picked up a 1-0 win at home.
- Jade Jamison leads the attack for Delaware State with four goals on the season.
- Leslie Fazio has a 2-6-1 record on the year in goal, with a 2.87 GAA and .633 save percentage.
 
Scouting Maine
- Maine is coming off of a week of rest before league play, boasting a 4-3-1 record.
- The Black Bears have won four of their last five matches, most recently topping the University of Maine at Machias, 11-0, on Sunday.
- Maine's only loss in the streak was to Central Connecticut State, as it suffered a 1-0 decision.
- Julia Mahoney leads the offensive efforts for the Black Bears with four goals and three assists on the season.
- Nicole Bailey also adds four goals and one assist on the year as Maine is out-scoring its opponents, 20-9.
- Annalena Kriebisch has handled the goalkeeping, boasting the team's record along with a 1.08 GAA and .786 save percentage.
