PROVIDENCE - The Stony Brook men's lacrosse team looks to bounce back after last week's season-opening loss to now second-ranked Penn State when they hit the road to face Brown on Saturday at 1 p.m. at
Stevenson-Pincince Field.
The Seawolves (0-1) fell to Penn State in the home opener last Saturday, while Brown (1-0) upended visiting Quinnapiac to open the 2019 campaign.
SEAWOLVES NOTES
• Stony Brook, the co-regular season America East Conference champions in 2018, were slated second in the preseason conference poll selected by the coaches. The Seawolves received three first-place votes and 32 points to fall just behind UAlbany's 33 points and three first-place votes.
• Stony Brook returns the top 10 goal scorers from last year's squad that includes junior
Tom Haun who posted 22 goals in 2018 and junior Chris Pickel Jr.'s 21 goals from a year ago.
• The Seawolves also return the top 12 players that dished out assists in 2018 led by sophomore
Jack Walsh's 25.
LAST TIME OUT
• Stony Brook dropped the season and home opener 17-4 to No. 4 Penn State last Saturday at LaValle Stadium. Four different Seawolves scored a goal in the opener.

SCOUTING BROWN
• The Bears opened the season last weekend with a 20-7 win over Quinnipiac in Providence.
• Nine different players scored goals in the opener for Brown led by Darian Cook, George Grell and Luke McCaleb with three each.
• Brown is receiving votes in this week's USILA Coaches Poll.
SERIES INFO
• This will mark just the fourth meeting between Stony Brook and Brown in lacrosse.
• Brown owns a 2-1 series lead.
• The schools have played in each of the past three seasons starting the series in Stony Brook on Feb. 27, 2016.
• Stony Brook won the only meeting played at Brown, 25-17, back on Feb. 25, 2017.
LAST TIME VS. BROWN
• Brown claimed a 18-11 victory over Stony Brook in LaValle Stadium on Feb. 24, 2018.
