GAINSVILLE, FLA.- A select few from the men's outdoor track and field team competed at the Pepsi Florida Relays on Thursday, March 28 through Saturday, March 30.
The weekend was highlighted by
Luke Coulter (Jamesport, N.Y.) and the quartet of
Ahmed Galal (Deer Park, N.Y.), Wayne Williams (Chester, N.Y.), Kevon White (Springfield Gardens, N.Y.), and
Sean Ideozu (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) breaking school records in their respective events. Coulter finished the 800m with a time of 1:50.24, and the 4x400m quartet finished with a time of 3:13.04.
COACH RONAN'S THOUGHTS
"We wanted to give this group a chance to compete at the next level, and it was great to see that they took full advantage of the opportunity. Luke and the 4x400 quartet did a great job, Luke was tough down the straight to win his section of the 800m. The relays guys produced another great effort and are getting better each time they line up. By season's end we hope that this experience will pay off by several of this group making the NCAA first round. The top 48 performances in the East make the first round," said head coach
Andy Ronan.
