Seawolves Continue Home Stand with Sacred Heart on Tuesday

STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- The Stony Brook men's lacrosse teams looks to get back on track when they continue their homestand on Tuesday by welcoming Sacred Heart to Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. Game time will be at 3 p.m. (a change from the schedule) and there will NOT be a charge for admission.

SEAWOLVES NOTES
• Stony Brook, the co-regular season America East Conference champions in 2018, were slated second in the preseason conference poll selected by the coaches. The Seawolves received three first-place votes and 32 points to fall just behind UAlbany's 33 points and three first-place votes.
• Junior Tom Haun leads the Seawolves with 10 goals through the first four games of the season. His first of a career-best five goals in the win at Hofstra was the 50th of his career.
 • Sophomore Mike McCannell dished out a career-best four assists in the win at Hofstra and owns a team-high six assists this season.
• Junior Michael Bollinger was named the America East Defender of the Week on Feb. 25 after he recorded 12 saves in the win at Brown. He also stopped nine Hofstra shots.
• Senior LSM Ryland Rees has been named to the 2019 Tewaaraton Watch List.

LAST TIME OUT
• The Stony Brook men's lacrosse team dropped the opening game of a three-game home stand on Saturday to visiting Marist, 10-5, at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.
• Junior attacker Tom Haun collected three points with a goal and a pair of assists.
• Junior A/M Chris Pickel Jr. tallied two goals for the Seawolves.

SCOUTING SACRED HEART
• The Pioneers snapped a two-game skid with a 17-16 win at Providence on Saturday.
• 16 different players have scored at least a goal for the Marist.
• Joe Saggese leads SHU with 16 goals and 12 assists for 28 points in the five games this season.

SERIES INFO
• This will mark the sixth meeting between Stony Brook and Sacred Heart.
• The Seawolves hold a 4-1 series advantage, but the Pioneers claimed the last meeting.  
 • Stony Brook owns a 2-1 series lead in games played in Stony Brook.
 
LAST TIME AGAINST THE PIONEERS
• Sacred Heart got past Stony Brook 11-9 in the season-opener on Feb. 10, 2018 in LaValle Stadium.   
• Stony Brook mounted a second half comeback with five goals after trailing 9-4 at halftime, but SHU hung on for the victory.

Stony Brook wraps up the three-game homestand when Bryant comes to Long Island on Saturday for a 12 p.m. faceoff in LaValle Stadium.
