Seawolves Host Bryant on Saturday to Conclude Home Stand

STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- The Stony Brook men's lacrosse team hosts Bryant on Saturday at 12 p.m. in Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium to wrap up the three-game home stand.

The Seawolves (2-3) have dropped two in a row, but Tuesday's defeated happened in overtime with a 12-11 loss to Sacred Heart. The Bulldogs (2-3) have also lost two in a row, including a one-goal loss to Manhattan a week ago.

SERIES INFO
• This will mark the fifth meeting between Stony Brook and Bryant and the teams haven't met since the 2013 season.
• The series is deadlocked a 2-2, but Bryant won the last two contests.  
 • The series is aso tied 1-1 in games played in LaValle Stadium.
 
LAST TIME AGAINST BRYANT
• Bryant claimed a 10-9 victory over Stony Brook in LaValle Stadium on March 23, 2013.   
• Seawolves' star Brody Eastwood, in his freshman season, netted four goals in the losing effort.

SEAWOLVES NOTES
• Stony Brook, the co-regular season America East Conference champions in 2018, were slated second in the preseason conference poll selected by the coaches. The Seawolves received three first-place votes and 32 points to fall just behind UAlbany's 33 points and three first-place votes.
• Junior Tom Haun leads the Seawolves with 11 goals through the first five games of the season. His first of a career-best five goals in the win at Hofstra was the 50th of his career.
• Haun earned the America East Offensive Player of the Week on March 4 following his week with six goals and two assists that included his five-goal night at Hofstra.
 • Sophomore Mike McCannell dished out a career-best four assists in the win at Hofstra and owns a team-high six assists this season.
• Junior Michael Bollinger was named the America East Defender of the Week on Feb. 25 after he recorded 12 saves in the win at Brown. He also stopped nine Hofstra shots.
• Senior LSM Ryland Rees has been named to the 2019 Tewaaraton Watch List.

SCOUTING BRYANT
• The Bulldogs enter Saturday having dropped back-to-back games.
• 10 different players have scored at least a goal for Bryant.
• Marc O'Rourke leads Bryant with 11 goals and eight assists in five games this season.

LAST TIME OUT
Cory VanGinhoven and junior attacker Chris Pickel Jr. each posted a hat trick on Tuesday afternoon for Stony Brook, but the Seawolves fell to visiting Sacred Heart 12-11 in overtime at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.
• The Seawolves also had a four-point afternoon from Tom Haun and three assists from Jack Walsh. The Pioneers got five goals from Max Tuttle, including the game-winner with just 0:07 left in the first overtime period.

ON DECK
Stony Brook opens America East play next Saturday when they travel to Hartford for a 1 p.m. faceoff.
