STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The top-seeded Stony Brook men's lacrosse team (9-5, 5-1 AE) is set to open postseason play against UMBC on Thursday, May 2 at 7 P.M. from LaValle Stadium. It will be the first time since 2012 that the America East Men's Lacrosse Tournament takes place in Stony Brook.

• Sophomore Jack Walsh (Miller Place, N.Y.) paces the Seawolves in assists with 19, while classmate Mike McCannell (Orangeville, Ontario) has 15.
• Junior Connor Grippe (Setauket, N.Y.) has scored a goal in eight consecutive games for the Seawolves, while freshman Layton Harrell (Newtown, Conn.) has scored in eight of his last nine appearances.
• Junior Chris Pickel Jr. (Bayport, N.Y.) has tallied seven goals in the team's last three games.
• 2019 Tewaarton Watch List member Ryland Rees (P. Coquitlam, B.C.) leads the team in ground balls with 36 and caused turnovers with 15.
• Junior Michael Bollinger (Holbrook, N.Y.) has played most of the minutes in goal for Stony Brook, owning a 10.67 GAA, second-best in the conference.

Last Time Out

• The Seawolves are coming off a 12-10 victory over UAlbany last Friday night.
• Stony Brook jumped out to an early 6-2 lead after the first quarter in the rain. UAlbany chipped away in the second quarter and the Seawolves took a 10-5 lead into halftime.
• The Great Danes dominated the third period, scoring all four goals of the quarter to trim their deficit to 10-9.
• After a two-hour lightning delay, the Seawolves held off the visitors and won the game, 12-10 to become America East Regular Season Champions.
• Haun scored four goals in the game while Pickel Jr. added a hat trick.
• Freshman Austin Deskewicz (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) won 12 faceoffs in the win, earning America East Co-Rookie of the Week honors.

• Ryan Frawley and Trevor Patschorke are tied for the team lead in points with 37. Frawley is the team leader in goals with 33, and leads the conference in goals per game (2.75).
• Billy Nolan has dished out 15 assists for the Retrievers, leading the team. Patschorke is right behind him with 14.
• Tommy Lingner spends the majority of time in net for UMBC. He has a 41.4% save percentage.
• UMBC leads the conference in goals per game with 11.42.
