Seawolves Set to Open Postseason Play Against UMBC

STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The top-seeded Stony Brook men's lacrosse team (9-5, 5-1 AE) is set to open postseason play against UMBC on Thursday, May 2 at 7 P.M. from LaValle Stadium. It will be the first time since 2012 that the America East Men's Lacrosse Tournament takes place in Stony Brook.

Last Time Out
  • The Seawolves are coming off a 12-10 victory over UAlbany last Friday night.
  • Stony Brook jumped out to an early 6-2 lead after the first quarter in the rain. UAlbany chipped away in the second quarter and the Seawolves took a 10-5 lead into halftime.
  • The Great Danes dominated the third period, scoring all four goals of the quarter to trim their deficit to 10-9.
  • After a two-hour lightning delay, the Seawolves held off the visitors and won the game, 12-10 to become America East Regular Season Champions.
  • Haun scored four goals in the game while Pickel Jr. added a hat trick.

  • Ryan Frawley and Trevor Patschorke are tied for the team lead in points with 37. Frawley is the team leader in goals with 33, and leads the conference in goals per game (2.75).
  • Billy Nolan has dished out 15 assists for the Retrievers, leading the team. Patschorke is right behind him with 14.
  • Tommy Lingner spends the majority of time in net for UMBC. He has a 41.4% save percentage.
