Rees Selected By Rochester with the No. 2 Overall Pick in the 2019 NLL Entry Draft


PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Ryland Rees (Port Coquitlam, B.C.), a senior on the 2019 Stony Brook men's lacrosse team, was selected as the second overall pick by the Rochester Knighthawks on Tuesday night in the 2019 National Lacrosse League (NLL) Entry Draft from the NBC Sports Xfinity Live.
 
Rees, a long stick midfielder for the Seawolves during his four season on Long Island. He was the 2019 America East Defensive Player of the Year and a first team All-Conference selection in both 2018 and 2019. He finished up his Stony Brook career with 15 goals, seven assists, 60 caused turnovers and 164 ground balls. Rees is also an All-Star member of the Boston Cannons in Major League Lacrosse.
 
The Knighthawks are one of two expansion teams in the NLL for the 2019-20 season and open the schedule on Nov. 30 at home against the Georgia Swarm.
