STONY BROOK, N.Y. — As the Stony Brook women's basketball team continues on an upwards trajectory, their ranking in the polls seems to follow the same trend.
In the latest CollegeInsider Mid-Major Top 25 Poll, the Seawolves (16-1, 4-0 AE) are ranked 13th, marking a two-place improvement from last week when the squad was 15th.
Stony Brook is the lone America East team featured in the poll while non-conference opponent Bucknell is receiving votes. The Seawolves topped the Bison at the Island Federal Arena in a double-overtime thriller (78-73) on Dec. 29.
The Seawolves are currently riding a 13-game win streak, which is the third longest in the nation while its win percentage (.941) is tied for second along with Gonzaga, South Carolina and Louisville.
Stony Brook is in action tonight, hosting the Hartford Hawks at 6:31 p.m. The team continues its conference slate with a road trip to UAlbany this weekend, taking on the Great Danes this Saturday at 2 p.m.
