Coming Home: Stony Brook Native Dylan Pallonetti Transfers From Maryland Lacrosse

STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Who says you can't go home?

The Bon Jovi song is spot on for Stony Brook native Dylan Pallonetti, who will join the Seawolves men's lacrosse program as a transfer from the University of Maryland.

"Playing for Stony Brook and returning to my hometown is very exciting," Pallonetti said. "I have a strong connection to the university and have attended many camps and events. Stony Brook is a great, strong community and with lots of family on Long Island I'm super excited to have them come watch me compete."

Pallonetti graduated from Ward Melville High School in 2019 and spent his freshman season as a member of the Terrapins squad. He did not see any game action during the abbreviated 2020 season.

"As a staff we could not be more excited to add Dylan and his family to the Seawolves' lacrosse family," Stony Brook head coach Anthony Gilardi said. "Dylan is an extremely talented offensive player and more importantly he is a winner, having won two state championships at Ward Melville.

"Our goal is to get the best players on Long Island and in the country to become Seawolves," Gilardi said. "By adding Dylan we are doing just that."

During his high school days as a Patriot, Pallonetti netted 227 career points, the fifth most on Ward Melville history. He  started every game during his four-year high school career and helped guide Patriots to a pair of state titles that included one national championship. Along the way, Pallonetti earned All-America honors from Under Armour and was named the Suffolk County Player of the Year.

Pallonetti, an attack/midfielder, will join the Seawolves as a redshirt freshman.
