Noah Farrelly Virtual Run and Walk to Be Held June 14

STONY BROOK, N.Y. — The second annual Noah Farrelly Run is set to take off this weekend in an adapted format.

The event, slated for this Sunday, June 14, will take place virtually this year in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants can choose to run or walk either a five or 10-kilometer distance at a location and time of their choice.

"I am so glad for Noah's family that they are able to host this special event considering everything that the coronavirus has affected these past few months," Stony Brook cross country and track and field head coach Andy Ronan said. "While it will not be the same as last year, it will still give everyone the opportunity to celebrate Noah."

The run was created to honor the life of men's cross country and track team member Noah Farrelly, who passed away during his freshman year in December of 2018.

More information, including registration and donation links, can be found here.

All registration proceeds and donations go to the Noah Farrelly Memorial Fund, benefitting scholarships and projects for local youth.

Said Ronan: "There is no doubt in my mind that wherever people are doing the virtual walk or run, Noah will be doing it with them by their side. I encourage everyone that can to support Noah's amazing parents, brother, sister, grandparents and extended family to celebrate Noah on Sunday."
