STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Stony Brook men's basketball forward
Jaden Sayles produced a career-high 29 points on Saturday at NJIT.
He also averaged a league-best 17.5 points as well as 7.5 rebounds per game for the week.
And on Monday, Sayles was recognized as America East Player of the Week.
"I don't think we've gotten him enough touches through the year," coach
Geno Ford said. "If you look at the percentages, the guy is shooting up near 60 percent from the field."
For the season, the 6-foot-9, 235-pound Sayles is averaging 11.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. He is shooting 57.1 percent from the field, which ranks second in America East.
Sayles joined Stony Brook this season as a senior after transferring from Akron.
The Seawolves (7-7, 5-3 AE) return to action next weekend with Saturday and Sunday games against Hartford at 2 p.m. at Island Federal Arena.
