STONY BROOK, N.Y. —  Kaeli Huff is slated to face some familiar faces next week.

The Stony Brook women's lacrosse team, in search of additional games, has added a matchup against No. 13 USC on Tuesday at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. Game time is to be determined.

The Trojans had been headed to the East Coast already for games against New Hampshire and Boston College. The UNH game was cancelled.

Sixth-ranked Stony Brook is coming off a 14-7 season-opening loss at top-ranked North Carolina.

Huff, a native of Eastport, tallied 86 goals, 16 assists, 79 ground balls and 46 caused turnovers from 2017 through '20 with the Trojans before joining Stony Brook as a graduate transfer this academic year. She was a Pac-12 all-conference first-team and all-academic honorable mention selection as a sophomore.

Her sister Kelsey remains with USC.

"I'm so excited for this game," Kaeli Huff said. "I have so much respect for all of my former USC teammates and coaches, so it willl be bittersweet having my old and new teams on the same field. I also think this will be a special game for me with my sister being on USC. Even though we'll have different jerseys on, the two of us will be on the same field again, which we weren't sure would ever happen again after the season ended last year.

"There's definitely a lot of emotion, but I have to turn that off for 60 minutes. On game day I'll have a Stony Brook jersey on and will play like it's any other opponent."

Stony Brook has won the last three meetings and four of five all-time meetings with USC.

"I'm really excited to add one of the top teams in the country in USC to our schedule at LaValle," coach Joe Spallina said. "USC is a great program, and this will be another huge test for our team. There are so many uncertainties this year, and the flexibility programs have shown in finding ways to make things work has been great. I'm excited to see our team back at it in its home opener."
