STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Ally Kennedy recently was named a Midseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse. She now has made the list of 25 women's nominees for the Tewaaraton Award.

The pared-down group was released Thursday.

Kennedy a 5-foot-3 midfielder from North Babylon and graduate student, enters Saturday's Stony Brook women's lacrosse game at UAlbany with 39 goals, 61 draw controls and 22 ground balls.

She and teammate Taryn Ohlmiller, as well as Stony Brook men's players Dylan Pallonetti and Cory VanGinhoven, previously had been on the Tewaaraton watch list.

Kennedy is a three-time America East Offensive Player of the Week this season.

She tallied 13 draw controls against Boston University on Feb. 21, tied for third most in a single game in program history, and two shy of matching her career high (15 vs. Princeton on March 8, 2020). She also tallied  her 200th career goal in the game against BU, joining Kylie Ohlmiller and Courtney Murphy as only players to reach that milestone in program history.

Kennedy  matched a career high with seven goals at Vermont on April 3. She initially achieved that total against UAlbany in 2019.

Sixth-ranked Stony Brook (9-2, 5-0 AE) returns to action this weekend for the first time in three weeks,

The Seawolves will be aiming for their 50th straight win against America East competition. That's the second-longest conference winning streak in any sport tracked by the NCAA, trailing only Oklahoma softball's 60-game winning streak in the Big 12.
