STONY BROOK, N.Y. — The Stony Brook men's soccer team has added a member of multiple Lithuanian national teams to its arsenal for the fall.
Forward Jonas Bickus from Klaipeda, Lithuania, has signed with the Seawolves.
Bickus was a member of the Lithuanian U17, U19 and U21 national teams. He currently plays with FC Neptunas in his native Klaipeda.
His hometown is located on the Baltic Coast and is the third-largest city in Lithuania.
Bickus also has been a member of Levante U19 in Valencia, Spain.
He originally intended to join Stony Brook for this past spring season, but his arrival in the United States was delayed due to the pandemic.
"We are looking forward to having Jonas here this fall," coach
Ryan Anatol said. "Jonas has gained a lot of international experience during his time with the Lithuanian youth national teams and while playing in Spain. He is a hard-working attacking player who has a nose for the goal. He will transition well to the college game."
