STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Carthell Flowers appeared in 31 games over three seasons with the Eastern Michigan football team.
Now, the 6-foot-2, 196-pound defensive back will complete his collegiate career with Stony Brook this fall as a graduate transfer.
Flowers recorded 15 tackles (eight solo) while appearing in all six games with Eastern Michigan last fall. He twice recorded a season-high four tackles—at Ball State on Nov. 11 and at Western Michigan on Dec. 5.
A Syracuse native, he was a three-year captain at Nottingham High School and earned honorable mention all-state honors as a senior.
"I picked Stony Brook because it seems like a great group of coaches wanting the best for their players," Flowers said. "Also, it's a place close to home that has great competitors on their team, who leave everything out on the field. Furthermore, the ability to showcase my talent at a school that once gave me the opportunity now gives me a second chance to do so."
