Football Ready to Renew New York Rivalry with Fordham: 5 Things to Know

THE BASICS: The Seawolves will go head-to-head with local New York foe Fordham on Saturday, October 15, at 6 p.m. at Jack Coffey Field. The game will air on SNY & ESPN+ with Andrew Bogusch (play-by-play) and Grant DelVecchio (analyst) on the call.
 
THE MATCHUP: Stony Brook is 3-2 all-time against the Rams and have collected a 3-1 record against them over its last four meetings. The teams last met on September 25, 2021, with Fordham earning a 45-10 victory over Stony Brook at LaValle Stadium. The Seawolves knocked off the Rams, 28-6, the last time they made the trip over to the Bronx on September 15, 2018. The New York rivalry dates back to the first meeting between the FCS foes on October 24, 1987.
 
THE KID FROM OCEANSIDE: Freshman quarterback Charlie McKee made his collegiate debut at New Hampshire on October 8. The Oceanside, Long Island native entered the game at the beginning of the third quarter for the Seawolves. The freshman went 18-26 for 190 yards and one touchdown in his debut.
 
NO TASK TOO TALL FOR TALLARICO: Ross Tallarico, a walk-on, who was converted from defensive back to running back prior to the season has started the last two games at tailback for the Seawolves and shined. The Long Island native has rushed for 151 yards on 42 carries, caught seven passes for 47 yards and two touchdowns, and completed one pass for 55 yards that went for a touchdown over the past two games.
 
DEFENSIVE DUO: Seawolves' graduate linebacker Reidgee Dimanche and graduate defensive back Carthell Flowers-Lloyd rank first and second on the team in tackles with 44 and 39, respectively. Dimanche ranks 10th in the league in tackles, while Flowers-Lloyd is second in the CAA in TFLs with 10.
