• On the first play of the game, Joseph Garcia came up with an interception at the Ball State 30-yard line to give the Seawolves the football.
• After the Seawolves pushed the ball to the Ball State 42-yard line and punted, the Stony Brook defense came up with a stop after a tackle by Garcia forced a punt with 7:50 left in the first quarter. The Cardinals punted to the Stony Brook five-yard line. Boyd and Dely connected for a six-yard gain, but that was all for the Seawolves as they gave the Cardinals the football back at the Ball State 34-yard line.
• On their next possession, the Cardinals went down the field on nine plays for 66 yards, resulting in a three-yard touchdown that gave Ball State a 7-0 lead with 1:41 left in the first quarter.
• Following the score, the Seawolves got a six-yard gain as time expired in the first quarter to give themselves a first down at the SBU 38-yard line to begin the second quarter. However, following a seven-yard pass to Linkins, the Cardinals got a stop on third down that forced Stony Brook to punt with 13:44 left in the half.
• The Cardinals took a 14-0 lead with 9:23 remaining in the first half after the home team went eight plays for 70 yards, concluding with a 23-yard touchdown pass.
• Boyd had a 13-yard rush on the next drive before he was picked off by Ball State, giving the Cardinals the ball at the Stony Brook 24-yard line. The home team would later connect on a 23-yard touchdown pass to take a 21-0 lead with 6:03 left in the half.
• Stony Brook responded as the Seawolves went down the field on eight plays for 48 yards, and Mannino cashed in on a 45-yard field goal to cut the deficit to 21-3 with 2:00 remaining in the second quarter. During the drive, Andrew Riggs caught his first career pass, a career-long 18-yard reception that moved the ball to the Ball State 32-yard line and set up Mannino's field goal.
• The Seawolves defense came up with a huge stop at their own one-yard line before time expired as Byndon recorded a sack to end the half and keep the deficit at 21-3 heading into the break.
• Stony Brook got the ball to start the second half. Hester got the Seawolves going with a five-yard rush and an 11-yard reception to put the ball around midfield. However, Ball State came up with an interception at its own 26-yard line to take the ball back with 13:00 left in the third quarter.
• Khalid Bueno gave the Seawolves a sack on second and six that pushed Ball State back to third and 11, ultimately forcing a punt following a third-down tackle by Ferrelli.
• Starting the drive at their own 25-yard line after the punt, Boyd and Sweitzer connected for an 11-yard pass that brought the ball to the Stony Brook 44-yard line. After a pass to Aphayvong moved Stony Brook into Ball State territory, the Seawolves were forced to punt following a penalty on fourth and one. The Cardinals started their next drive at their own 14-yard line.
• The Seawolves got their first three-and-out of the day on the defensive side after a sack by Garcia on third down gave Stony Brook the football following a Ball State punt to the Stony Brook 36-yard line.
• Boyd and Sweitzer connected for 13 yards to get the next drive going for Stony Brook as they pushed the ball to the Ball State 45-yard line. However, the Cardinals came up with a sack that pushed the Seawolves back and ultimately forced a punt with 3:39 left in the third quarter.
• Ball State extended its lead to 24-3 after the Cardinals connected on a 38-yard field goal.
• Following a fourth-down stop of the Seawolves, Ball State added another field goal from 30 yards with 6:00 remaining in the game to go ahead 27-3.
• Hester pushed the ball into Ball State territory on the next possession as the running back tallied a 45-yard rush that put the ball at the Cardinals' 20-yard line. Coney finished off the drive with his first rushing touchdown as a Seawolf, and Aphayvong connected with Boyd on a two-point conversion to make the score 27-11 with 3:18 left.
• Ball State responded with a 49-yard rushing touchdown on the second play of the drive to take a 34-11 advantage.
• Coney scored another touchdown on the Seawolves' next drive, this time breaking loose for a 66-yard rushing touchdown to make the score 34-17.
• The Cardinals answered with a 54-yard rushing touchdown on the first play of the next drive to make the score 41-17 before the two-minute warning.

• Garcia recorded his first interception of the season and the fifth of his career. He also tallied 13 tackles, including 2.0 tackles for loss.
• Boyd was 22-of-35 with 147 yards through the air and had two interceptions. The quarterback also rushed for nine yards this afternoon.
• Coney had a season-high 90 yards on the ground and rushed for his first two touchdowns of the season.
• Calagro posted a season-high 13 tackles in the game, tying Garcia for the team lead.
• Bueno continues to disrupt opposing offenses as the redshirt freshman recorded a team-best 3.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. He currently leads the CAA in sacks this season.
• Sweitzer helped the offense with a team-best seven catches for 50 yards. He leads the team in receptions and receiving yards.
• Mannino recorded his second field goal of the season, knocking in a 45-yard field goal. It marked the sixth kick of at least 40 yards in Mannino's career.
• The Seawolves had 11.0 tackles for loss compared to five by Ball State. Stony Brook now has 32.0 tackles for loss this season, which leads the CAA.
• Stony Brook recorded just three penalties for 26 yards this afternoon, while Ball State committed 11 for 99 yards.
• The Ball State matchup continues Stony Brook's streak of facing an FBS opponent in every full season since 2010.
• This was the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
