STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Freshman
David Alleva clubbed his first career home run and had a collegiate best three RBI, but the Stony Brook baseball team fell to Manhattan 17-13 on Wednesday afternoon at Joe Nathan Field.
Evan Giordano joined Alleva in hitting a home run in the first, giving Stony Brook a 2-1 lead in the opening frame but Manhattan would quickly respond with a five-run second.
After that, Stony Brook stormed back as
Adam Kuzmicki's SAC fly made it 6-3 and a two-run error cut the deficit to one.
That was the first of two Kuzmicki RBIs today, as he added a RBI single in a five-run eighth inning for the hosts.
Stanton Leuthner also had a very productive day, recording two hits in three ABs, with both being two-run singles through the left side of the infield.
Matt DeStefano also added a pair of runs scored and a 2-for-5 effort at the plate in his first collegiate start.

QUOTES FROM THE SEAWOLVES
"We're into the second half of the conference season and before we went into this weekend, I felt like I needed to have some position guys get out there and the same with some pitchers. I was hoping for a better result, certainly from the pitching end." - head coach
