LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Graduate pitcher Dawn Bodrug and junior catcher Corinne Badger earned the attention of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). Bodrug was tabbed as an NFCA All-Region Second Team honoree and Badger was named as an NFCA All-Region Third Team honoree by the NFCA as announced by the association on Thursday.
 
The Seawolves are just two of 381 student-athletes recognized as 2022 NFCA Division I All-Region honorees. Bodrug and Badger were selected along with 37 other student-athletes to represent the Mid-Atlantic region.
 
For the second season in a row, Bodrug was selected to the NFCA All-Region Second Team. The graduate went 19-7 with a 2.00 ERA in 29 games (25 starts) in the circle. She has tossed 22 complete games, 10 shutouts, and picked up two saves this season. Bodrug recorded four no-hitters – all coming in the month of April (no-hit Maine on Apr. 2, St. John's on Apr. 5, Hartford on Apr. 23, and UMBC on Apr. 27). She tallied 285 strikeouts, which are a new Stony Brook single-season record. The Georgetown, Ontario native ranks fifth in the nation in shutouts, sixth in strikeouts per seven innings, and 10^th in strikeouts. Bodrug was also named to the All-Conference First Team for her stand-out performance this season.
 
Badger burst on to the scene in 2022, and earned herself a spot on the NFCA All-Region Third Team. For the season, she hit .312 with 16 home runs and 44 RBI. The junior recorded a .716 slugging percentage and .377 on-base percentage. In 47 games, she tallied 44 hits, seven doubles, one triple, and scored 33 runs. She leads the league in slugging and OPS (1.093), third in runs scored, ninth in hits, second in RBI, and first in homers. On March 1, Badger became Stony Brook's first-ever national Player of the Week. The Pleasant Valley, N.Y. native was also a two-time America East Player of the Week and earned All-Conference First Team honors this season.
