BOSTON — Five Seawolves earned major awards to highlight 11 total America East All-Conference selections as the league announced its postseason honorees Wednesday morning.

Kailyn Hart (Attacker of the Year), Ellie Masera (Midfielder of the Year), Haley Dillon (Defender of the Year), Charlie Campbell (Goalkeeper of the Year) and Joe Spallina (Coach of the Year) highlighted five of the six America East major award winners. The first four were also honored on the league's All-Conference First Team and were joined by Kyla Zapolski and Clare Levy. Jaden Hampel, Rayna Sabella and Ella Whitehouse earned Second Team All-Conference honors, while Molly LaForge and Alex Fusco both earned All-Rookie honors. Siobhan Rafferty joined Campbell and Sabella on the league's All-Academic squad.

Hart finished the year second in the league in goals with 57 and third in goals per game, scoring 3.56 per contest. She also finished in the top five in total points (71), points per game (4.44) and shot percentage (.553) to help pace a Seawolves offense that finished first in the league and 13th nationally in scoring. The North Babylon, N.Y., native scored 27 goals in six league contests, leading the Seawolves. She scored at least four goals in all but one America East contest and finished the year with 20 tallies over the final four games to lead Stony Brook to its ninth consecutive America East regular season title. The lefty was also an ILWomen Midseason All-American.

Masera is one of the nation's best midfielders, as the ILWomen First Team Midseason All-American selection was all over the national leaderboards. She finished the regular season inside the top 30 nationally in draw controls per game (5.81), free-position percentage (.609), goals (58), goals per game (3.62), points (76) and points per game (4.75) to anchor the Stony Brook midfield. The only underclassman on the ILWomen Midseason First Team, she finished conference play with 31 draw controls over six contests, leading the team, and was second on the team in points during the six league games with 27.

Dillon's breakout 2022 campaign earned her national recognition as well with an ILWomen Midseason All-American nod. The Mount Sinai, N.Y., native is currently fourth in the country, averaging 2.62 caused turnovers per game. The 42 total this season are good for third all-time and are the most by a Seawolves defender since 2017, when current record-holder Brooke Gubitosi recorded 55. She had six caused turnovers against Vermont, one off the program record and the most since the 2017 campaign. The 84 for her career currently places her sixth for a career on the program's all-time list.

Campbell helped anchor a back line that was the nation's best in scoring defense, allowing 6.69 goals per game. She finished league play with a 4.54 goals-against average and a .558 save percentage, making 24 stops in her six league appearances. The latter number led the America East, while her GAA was second in the conference. She finalized her award-winning campaign with a six-save performance at UAlbany on Saturday afternoon and started league play by stopping seven of 11 shots on cage against Vermont on March 26.

Spallina earned his sixth America East Coach of the Year honor and first since the 2018 season. He engineered the nation's best scoring defense this year, as the squad allowed 6.69 goals per game this season. The squad also ranked in the top 10 nationally in caused turnovers per game (10.81), clearing percentage (.925), scoring margin (8.94), shot percentage (.489), turnovers per game (11.44) and win percentage (.875). The Seawolves took home eight America East weekly honors, a pair of IWLCA National honors, and had five ILWomen Midseason All-American selections and had his team ranked as high as fourth in the national polls and never lower than seventh during the 2022 campaign.

Zapolski is a First Team All-Conference selection for the third time in her career, ranking fifth on the team with 21 goals and fourth with 11 assists. Levy was selected to the First Team for the first time in her career, as the ILWomen Midseason All-American earned Second Team and All-Rookie honors in her freshman campaign.

The 2021 Co-Defensive Player of the Year in the League, Sabella was also selected as an ILWomen Midseason All-American. She was fourth on the team with 32 points and the same team rank with 26 goals. Hampel and Whitehouse both earned All-Conference honors for the first time in their collegiate careers. Fusco and LaForge both made double-digit appearances in the Stony Brook midfield to earn All-Rookie honors.

On the academic side, the 2021 Spring Presidential Scholar Athlete, Rafferty earned her fourth All-Academic honor. Sabella was tabbed with her second and Campbell, an eight-time ACC Academic Honor Roll student, earned her first honor from the America East.

The No. 5 Seawolves will find out their fate on Sunday night, when the NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Championship bracket is unveiled live on ESPNU.
