STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Five different players found the scoresheet on Sunday afternoon, as the women's soccer program bounced back from its midweek loss to roll to a 5-1 victory over LIU at LaValle Stadium.
Reilly Rich started an avalanche of Stony Brook goals, as the Seawolves' constant pressure allowed for the most scoring since 2017 in the victory.
The Seawolves quickly doubled the advantage thanks to the first-career goal from
Luciana Setteducate, who pressured the LIU defenders in the box and created a turnover that she'd calmly finish with her left foot.
Jadyn Lui added a third before the half was up, heading home a corner to make it three for the home side. It is the second time in three games that Stony Brook has poured in a trio of tallies in the first 45 minutes, matching its first-half output against Bryant a week ago.
Two more were added, as a beautiful passage of play allowed
Linn Beck to score her second before
Sammy Hannwacker perfectly placed a free kick from 27 yards out to finish the scoring.

QUOTES FROM THE SEAWOLVES
"I'm very happy with our performance. We did a great job executing our gameplan, moved the ball well and I thought it was overall a really good performance. [3-1] is a really good spot to be in to start. I've thought we played well in the first couple games, unfortunately we didn't get the win at Quinnipiac even though I thought we played well, but it was really good to win the game. We've brought a lot of very talented people in and they've been able to take advantage of a lot of playing time early in their careers. They're really making the most of it and that really shows what type of group we have and the leadership that our seniors bring. They are really welcoming and encouraging from the start" - head coach
Tobias Bischof.
UP NEXT
The Seawolves head to Cincinnati for their next matchup, taking on the Bearcats at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday morning. They will return home a week from Sunday, hosting Providence at 1 p.m. at LaValle Stadium.
