STONY BROOK, N.Y. - Stony Brook tennis head coach
Thiago Dualiby announced the signing of Lorin Tilipman to the program's signing class of 2024 on Wednesday.
Â
Tilipman, a native of Tel Aviv, Israel, has signed her National Letter of Intent and will enroll at Stony Brook and begin competing for the program in the 2024-25 athletic year.
Â
"Lorin has competed at a high level and has a great offensive game style for hard court tennis," said Dualiby. "Her high standards and cheerful presence are a great fit to our program and community. I am really excited to have Lorin become a part of our team and help her achieve her goals."
Â
Tilipman brings a lot of national and international success on the court to the Seawolves, as she competed three times in the European Junior Championships, doing so with Israel's U14, U16 and U18 national teams. She made ITF finals competition and won some in both singles and doubles, winning in both the fourth and fifth grades. She also won nationals while competing with U16.
She has been playing the sport since she was four years old. Her ITF junior ranking was 652 as of May 3, 2021.
Tilipman attended and graduated from Bilch High School in Ramat Gan. She has competed in international play, as her high school does not sponsor tennis.
