RICHMOND, Va. – For the first time in his career, Stony Brook men's lacrosse junior
Noah Armitage has been named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week. Armitage helped lead Stony Brook to a pair of wins over St. John's and Hampton as they claimed their first-ever CAA win against the Pirates.
Over the last two games, he tallied eight goals and three assists that fueled a Seawolves' offensive attack that scored 37 goals over the two games. In the win over St. John's, he finished with four points as he tallied two goals and two assists in the 18-8 victory over the Red Storm.
In their victory against Hampton, Armitage led the attack for the Seawolves as he registered a career-high seven points. The junior found the back of the net six times, which marked a new career-high and became the second Stony Brook student-athlete to score six goals in a game this season (Pallonetti scored six goals against Air Force on Feb. 2). The 19 goals by Stony Brook were the most they scored in the season and most since the squad scored 20 against NJIT last season on April 9.
This season, Armitage ranks second in multiple offensive categories for the Seawolves such as goals (17), assists (10), points (27) and leads the team in shot percentage (.472) and shot on goal percentage (.806).
Armitage becomes the third Stony Brook student-athlete to earn a CAA weekly honor.
The Seawolves are set to travel to Monmouth University on Saturday, March 25, at noon.
